Job Description
Reynolds Family Dentistry is a two-clinic system with practices in Grants Pass and Medford, Oregon. Our focus is on providing high-quality, affordable general dentistry services to the entire family.

Reynolds Family Dentistry (RFD) seeks a qualified, compassionate, and committed Dental Assistant to become part of the RFD Team.
Summary: The Dental Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care, assisting the Dentist in providing quality health care, and working to improve health outcomes. The Dental Assistant must be able to recognize and respond to emergencies and conduct patient education. This position is also responsible for specific duties as assigned by the Dentist.
The Dental Assistant is also responsible for patient check-in/out of the operatory, set up and break down of operatory, verifying operatories are stocked with supplies and thoroughly cleaned/disinfected following each patient encounter. The Dental Assistant may also be responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing activities as deemed necessary by supervising staff.
Dental Assistant Job Duties: These are representative of the essential functions performed, and are not all-inclusive.
Ensure that patients are comfortable in the dental chair.
Prepare patients and the work area for treatments and procedures.
Sterilize dental instruments.
Hand instruments to dentists during procedures.
Dry patients’ mouths using suction hoses and other equipment.
Instruct patients in proper oral hygiene.
Process x-rays and complete lab tasks, under the direction of a dentist.
Keep records of dental treatments.
Input Dentist’s treatment plan and chart notes.
Notify Front Desk of the need for future patient appointments, referrals and pre-auths.
Work with patients on understanding billing and payment.
Other office duties as assigned.
Hours: Full-Time, M-Th, 7:30-5:30, with flexibility as necessary.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma
Graduate of accredited dental assisting program or dental assisting experience preferred
Coursework in dental instruments and procedures preferred
Compliance with state dental practice requirements (e.g. OSHA training, BLS, Radiology licensed in the State of Oregon, EFDA Cert. preferred)
Computer skills (preferably Dentrix)
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Interpersonal:
Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members, and the community.
Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff.
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
