Job Description
Overview
Join our dental team as a Dental Assistant and play an important role in providing great patient care. You’ll work closely with the dentist during procedures, help keep patients comfortable, and make sure the day runs smoothly. We’re looking for someone who is dependable, friendly, and detail-oriented, with a positive attitude and a genuine interest in helping others. This position is a great opportunity to build your skills and grow in a professional, fast-paced dental office.
Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, set up supplies, and make sure equipment is ready for use and properly maintained according to infection control standards.
Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures, including general and pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other treatments.
Take dental X-rays and 3D scans while following proper safety, sterilization, and infection control procedures.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software, following HIPAA requirements.
Take patient vital signs and review medical histories to help the dentist provide appropriate care.
Explain basic oral health and post-treatment instructions to patients and answer questions about their treatment when appropriate.
Help the front desk team with scheduling, patient flow, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Skills
Comfortable using Dentrix or similar dental software for charting, scheduling, and patient records.
Familiar with dental terminology, anatomy, instruments, equipment, and X-ray procedures.
Knowledge of infection control, instrument sterilization, and proper aseptic techniques.
Able to assist chairside and work efficiently with the dentist using four-handed dentistry.
Friendly, professional communication skills and a patient-focused approach.
Reliable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team.
