Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)
Orlando Area | Oakland, Florida
Vision Dental Partners is expanding into the Orlando area, and we are hiring an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant for our Oakland, Florida practice.

We already have a great doctor in place and are looking for a dependable, experienced dental assistant who takes pride in patient care, enjoys working as part of a clinical team, and wants to help build and grow a successful practice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the doctor, maintaining an efficient clinical schedule, and helping patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.

Responsibilities include:
Prepare, clean, and maintain treatment rooms to provide a safe and welcoming environment
Escort patients to treatment rooms and explain procedures as appropriate
Assist the dentist during restorative, surgical, and other clinical procedures
Perform approved expanded-function duties based on certification and Florida requirements
Place, finish, and polish restorations as permitted
Take diagnostic dental radiographs
Take impressions, scans, and other clinical records as needed
Prepare and sterilize instruments, handpieces, and equipment according to OSHA and CDC guidelines
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
Coordinate and track laboratory cases to support timely delivery
Review post-treatment instructions with patients
Educate patients regarding oral hygiene and recommended care
Maintain appropriate levels of clinical supplies and notify the team when items need to be ordered
Help maintain an efficient schedule and support smooth patient flow
Assist with other clinical or administrative responsibilities as needed

Qualifications
Florida Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification, or ability to obtain required credentials
Dental radiography certification
Previous dental assisting experience required
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and infection-control standards
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical instructions
Professional, dependable, and patient-focused
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
