Job Description
Overview
Become a member of our team at SOCO Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics as a GP Dental Assistant on Fridays. We are looking for an experienced and friendly dental assistant to assistant our Dr with the older pediatric patients for their operative needs. This will start as a half day on Fridays moving towards a full day on Fridays as we build the schedule. We have an adorable office dog, named Peanut, that will quickly become your friend.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists with a variety of procedures including fillings and extractions
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to aseptic technique standards.
Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, updating medical records, and scheduling follow-up appointments as needed.
Maintain infection control protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards to protect patient and staff safety..
Requirements
Proven experience as a dental assistant in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting with familiarity in dental terminology and clinical procedures.
Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting including X-ray taking, dental imaging, and four-handed dentistry techniques.
Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and medical terminology for effective communication within the team.
Certification in radiography (X-ray) is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are a plus.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation related to medical coding. Join us on Fridays to be part of a passionate team committed to delivering exceptional dental care while fostering a positive patient experience!
