Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures
Assist dentists during various dental treatments, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accurate medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and patient comfort
Measure vital signs and monitor patient health before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety
Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is a plus
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety protocols
Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical environment
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages
Certification or training in dental assisting preferred; ongoing professional development encouraged
Ability to work efficiently in general dentistry settings involving endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties
