Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring that the dental office operates smoothly. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices and procedures, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Ensure patient comfort by providing support and information before, during, and after treatments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment area, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
Schedule appointments and handle patient inquiries at the front desk when necessary.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Assist in sterilization of instruments and maintain inventory of dental supplies.
Support specialized areas such as pediatrics or orthodontics when required.
Requirements
Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred; experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic is highly desirable.
Knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and medical terminology is beneficial.
Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in dental assisting are preferred.
Experience in pediatrics or orthodontics is advantageous but not mandatory.
