Job Overview
Join our dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering great patient care! In this energetic role, you will support the dentist in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and creating a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Your knowledge of dental procedures, patient management, and infection control will help us maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. This full time paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, supportive setting dedicated to health, comfort, and community. You do not need to have any prior experience in the dental field to apply. There is on the job training and reimbursement for licensing.
Duties
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management policies
Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize 3D scanners to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies
Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical imaging or special care
Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and providing education on oral health practices
Experience
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties. If no prior work experience there is on the job training.
Knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and clinical procedures including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix
Strong understanding of infection control protocols specific to healthcare settings and expertise in healthcare infection prevention and control practices
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards
Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with diverse patient populations is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dental teams and provide compassionate patient care
