Job Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, friendly environment! In this role, you will support dentists during clinical procedures, ensure seamless patient management, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Duties
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques
Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize advanced medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid diagnosis and treatment planning
Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies
Conduct vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care
Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and providing clear instructions on post-treatment care
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to dental sterilization procedures and infection control standards
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or oral surgery practices
Familiarity with dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and dental instrument processing is essential
Proficiency in using patient management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft enhances efficiency in record keeping and appointment scheduling
Knowledge of medical coding and medical documentation practices ensures accurate billing and record maintenance
Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, including dental radiography certification if applicable
Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control protocols along with aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
Ability to work effectively in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry for optimal clinical flow
