Dental Assistant

Duties
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use
Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans and medical imaging as needed for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality
Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and medical documentation to ensure patient safety and comfort
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical records with precision
Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and infection control practices to promote oral health literacy
Requirements
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is a plus
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience supporting pediatric patients preferred
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other staff
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; additional certifications in medical terminology or medical imaging are advantageous
