Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for procedures.
Assist dentists during various treatments, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry procedures, by providing chairside support.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray images), ensuring accurate positioning while adhering to infection prevention protocols and radiation safety standards.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions to promote understanding and comfort.
Perform dental instrument processing by cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing tools according to infection control policies.
Monitor vital signs when necessary, assist with medical imaging procedures, and support overall patient management to enhance their experience.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and appointments.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and clinical confidentiality policies.
Certified in dental x-ray techniques; additional certifications in oral surgery or pediatric dentistry are a plus.
Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and dental sterilization procedures is essential.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and healthcare professionals.
