Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
Manage appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when required.
Support endodontic procedures by preparing materials and assisting during treatments.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge:
Familiarity with medical coding and terminology relevant to dental practices.
Understanding of anatomy related to dental health.
Ability to take vital signs as part of patient assessments.
Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic is preferred.
Previous experience in assisting dental procedures is an asset.
Knowledge of infection control standards and practices within a dental setting.
