Job Description
Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinicians. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, friendly environment where your skills in clinical procedures, patient management, and dental technology will shine. As a key member of our practice, you will assist with a variety of dental treatments, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and contribute to creating a comfortable experience for every patient.
Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists during procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside support.
Take and develop dental x-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and patient comfort.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain procedures using accurate dental terminology.
Monitor vital signs and assist with patient management to ensure safety and comfort throughout visits.
Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow through patient management software, and handling administrative tasks efficiently.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with patient management software is highly desirable.
Knowledge of dental equipment operation, sterilization procedures, and infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical documentation standards.
Certification or training in dental assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques and aseptic technique practices.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, and specialists like oral surgeons or prosthodontists.
