Job Description
Dental Assistant is needed for dental clinic, if you are detailed and love working with people, and you are a person who can multitask while maintaining a high customer service level please send in your resume. Knowledge and experience in dental work is a must. If Level 2 Assistant that is an asset.
COVID-19 considerations:
Practice follows all infection control protocols outlined by the RCDSO
Dentrix knowledge is must or other dental software is required, dental assisting/ Hygiene background is an asset.
Position Requirements:
Must be able to work some Weekends.
Must have good Computer Skills.
Must be great on the phone, good communication skills, good verbal skills, and excellent writing skills.
You will have a minimum of 6 months dental experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments and materials as needed.
Prepare patients for examination by taking medical histories, performing preliminary exams, and ensuring patient comfort.
Provide post-procedure instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
Sterilization and Equipment Maintenance:
Clean, sterilize, and prepare dental instruments and equipment.
Ensure compliance with infection control standards.
Set up and break down treatment rooms between patients.
Radiography:
Take and develop dental x-rays (depending on state requirements).
Ensure x-ray equipment is functioning correctly and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
Administrative Support:
Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
Update patient records and maintain accurate charts.
Process insurance claims and handle billing procedures.
Assist with patient billing and payment collection when necessary.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies.
Order dental supplies as needed and keep records of stock levels.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-care instructions, and other dental health topics.
Answer basic questions from patients regarding their treatment.
Clinical Support:
Prepare materials for dental procedures (e.g., mixing fillings, impression materials).
Assist with dental procedures like fillings, crowns, extractions, and root canals.
General Office Support:
Help with maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment.
Assist with managing patient intake forms and verifying insurance information.
Administrative Duties:
Scheduling
Running errands
Sorting and sending mail
Answering and routing phone calls
Greeting visitors
Schedule:
Day Shift
Weekends
Morning Shift
Evening Shift
