Duties
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring sterilization and organization in accordance with infection control protocols
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Endodontics, and Periodontics, providing support with patient comfort and instrument handling
Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse; assess patient readiness for treatment
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care instructions clearly and compassionately
Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical and dental histories, and managing medical documentation
Support the dental office team by performing front desk duties including greeting patients, verifying insurance information, and assisting with billing or coding as needed
Skills
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document treatments and procedures
Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record management
Knowledge of diverse dental specialties including Pediatric dentistry, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Endodontics, and Periodontics to assist effectively across disciplines
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Excellent patient assessment skills to evaluate vital signs and overall health status before procedures
Ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism
Prior experience in a dental clinic or general dentistry setting is preferred to ensure seamless integration into our team
