Responsibilities
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared efficiently.

Operate and maintain dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, adhering to safety protocols and infection prevention management.

Process dental instruments using sterilization procedures aligned with infection control standards, maintaining aseptic techniques at all times.

Manage patient records electronically using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Take vital signs and medical history of patients to support comprehensive care delivery while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.

Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.

Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection prevention policies and ensuring all dental tools are sterilized properly.

Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is preferred, especially with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices.

Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and diagnoses.

Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, including dental radiography for both adult and pediatric patients.

Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing electronic health records efficiently.

Knowledge of dental assisting best practices including four-handed dentistry, oral surgery assistance, endodontics support, and prosthodontics procedures.

Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control protocols including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures.

Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in patient interaction roles while maintaining professionalism at all times.
