Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic and rewarding position, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly. Responsibilities
Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection prevention management protocols
Take digital dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to radiation safety standards and HIPAA privacy regulations
Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix and Dexis, document medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes accurately
Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient concerns with professionalism and compassion
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and ensuring compliance with healthcare privacy laws
Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes
Complete intraoral scans with the Itero scanner
Fabricate crown and bridge temps
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix and Dexis for managing electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation
Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, infection control standards, aseptic technique, and dental instrument processing
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining radiation safety protocols; experience with dental x-ray equipment is preferred
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical confidentiality policies
Experience in all aspects of dentistry
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and healthcare professionals
Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; ongoing training in healthcare infection prevention and control is encouraged
