Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and orthodontics, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
Manage patient records efficiently using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Dentrix Ascend, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout treatments, demonstrating knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
Support infection control practices by adhering to aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards.
Handle administrative duties such as greeting patients as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and consent forms.
Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and the importance of regular check-ups to promote overall dental wellness.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, surgical procedures, taking X-rays, and managing dental instruments efficiently.
Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend for accurate documentation of medical records and coding.
Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting.
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices confidently.
Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.
