Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and passing necessary tools efficiently. Take dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Manage patient records with precision, including updating medical documentation, dental coding, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Support patient care by reviewing medical history, and explaining procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Provide excellent customer service by scheduling appointments, answering questions, and guiding patients through their visit with professionalism.
Skills
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures . Experience with chair side assisting in general dentistry or other specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics is highly valued. Ability to perform X-ray procedures while adhering to safety protocols related to infection control and aseptic technique. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical records management, and dental coding. Knowledge of infection prevention practices combined with understanding of general dentistry enhances patient safety and comfort. Excellent organizational skills paired with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced dental clinic environment are crucial for success.
