Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly using infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments, managing dental materials, and providing chairside support.
Take high-quality X-ray images and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to assist with accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and updating medical documentation.
Measure vital signs including blood pressure and pulse to monitor patient health before procedures.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to ensure understanding.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry.
Experience operating EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA guidelines.
Understanding of medical terminology, medical coding for billing purposes, and pediatric dentistry practices enhances your ability to support diverse patient needs.
Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while adhering to safety protocols; experience with medical imaging devices like 3D scanners is advantageous.
