Job Summary

Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, etc.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
Take dental X-rays, FMX, panoramic and intraoral photos while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
Manage patient records using systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical coding for billing purposes.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools.
Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation.
Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines ensuring patient privacy and data security at all times.
Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology relevant to various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
Strong organizational skills for managing appointments, medical records, and insurance documentation.
