Job Summary

Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing necessary tools and materials promptly.
Take dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and image quality while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Manage electronic medical records (Open Dental), accurately documenting treatment details, medical history, vital signs, and dental coding.
Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and addressing questions about treatment plans.
Coordinate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments, confirm patient information, and manage medical documentation efficiently.
Maintain infection control standards by following strict protocols for sterilization, handling of medical imaging equipment, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures.
Proficiency in Open dental is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge related to dentistry, and dental terminology.
Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification in X-ray technology preferred.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations concerning medical records and patient confidentiality.
Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to pediatric and adult patients alike.
