Job Summary

Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly with proper aseptic technique.

Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.

Manage patient records accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; document treatment details and medical history thoroughly.

Support patient care by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and explaining procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology.

Maintain infection control protocols and ensure the clinic adheres to OSHA standards to promote a safe environment for patients and staff
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant knowledge of dental assisting procedures.

Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation software is a plus.

Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.

Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools confidently.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.

Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; ability to explain procedures clearly.

Certification in radiography or X-ray certification required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are advantageous.

Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques while maintaining high standards of infection control.
