Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with proficiency in managing clinical procedures, patient care, and dental documentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality dental services while supporting the overall efficiency of our practice.
Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists during various procedures such as general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
Take digital (X-ray) imaging and operate advanced medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or medical coding.
Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care while answering questions related to dental terminology and procedures.
Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative tasks efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and ensuring compliance with all safety guidelines.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is required.
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical records management is essential for accurate documentation.
Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools is preferred.
Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a dental environment.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards ensures compliance with privacy laws and billing processes.
