Responsibilities

Assist dentist during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and providing patient comfort.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and using advanced imaging technology while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation within patient management software, and verifying patient information for accuracy.
Monitor vital signs and medical history to ensure patient safety throughout treatment sessions while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies.
Process dental instruments efficiently using proper sterilization techniques and ensure all dental equipment is maintained in optimal working condition.
Support the front desk team as a dental receptionist when needed by managing patient inquiries, updating medical coding records, and coordinating with healthcare providers.
Skills
Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging technology, and the operation of dental equipment.
Expertise in infection prevention management practices such as aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures to uphold healthcare infection control standards.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency during procedures.
Excellent patient management skills with a focus on delivering compassionate care while ensuring clinical confidentiality policies are followed at all times.
Familiarity with medical documentation standards including medical coding for billing purposes.
