Love Your Smile Dentistry
Schedule: Monday 9am to 5pm | Tuesday 9am to 5pm | Wednesday 9am to 5pm |
Pay: $25/hour
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dedicated dental team located at VHC Hospital in Arlington, VA. As an essential part of our practice the Dental Assistant provides administrative, logistical, and operational support and program coordination. Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Comfort: Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check-ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have.
Assist with Procedures: Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures. Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry and ensure the dental room is well-prepared for each procedure.
Instrument Sterilization & Safety: Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure that all dental instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
Lab Tasks & Post-Operative Care: Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post-operative care instructions.
Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, assisting with patient charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
Regulated Tasks: Perform non-surgical tasks such as coronal polishing, if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of dental assisting experience..
Certification: Dental Assistant Certification (CDA or RDA) is required. Additional certifications such as EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) or Radiology Certifications are a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols.
Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments.
Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office.
Experience with Eaglesoft dental practice management software is required.
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, and assist with other dental procedures.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring their comfort.
Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Certifications: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Radiology Certification, or Dental Hygiene Assistant certification.
Language Skills: Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus but not required.
