Job Description
Overview
We have a small office with one doctor, one assistant (possibly you) and one front office person. We are busy but try to see one patient at a time to truly try to practice exceptional customer service remembering that people do not want to go the the dentist AND have to pay for it. We have all been there, and we try to remember this when we deal with patients.
Duties
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment for endodontic procedures.
Assist the dentist during root canal treatments by handing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear field of view.
Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture detailed images for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records, dental terminology, and procedural notes.
Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient flow.
Skills
Experience with dental assisting techniques like four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, infection control, and aseptic technique.
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to safety standards.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices relevant to dental clinics.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, patients, and team members in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in pediatric dentistry or with pediatric patients is a plus but not required.
