Job Summary

Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection prevention protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including dental X-ray imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and clinical confidentiality policies.
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic, and patient management software to ensure accurate medical documentation and coding.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment like dental sterilization procedures and dental equipment, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed consistently.
Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, managing patient anxiety, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments efficiently using infection control standards and infection prevention management practices.
Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, managing patient flow, and handling medical records with confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry practices.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Experience operating dental X-ray machines and understanding of medical imaging protocols.
Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic or similar platforms for documentation and billing purposes.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry procedures and experience working with pediatric patients preferred.
Expertise in infection control practices including aseptic technique, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention and control standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies and adhering to safety protocols.
