Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and arranging dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics, ensuring all tools and materials are ready for use.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize advanced medical imaging tools like 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses.
Manage patient records using Eaglesoft to ensure accurate documentation of medical and dental histories.
Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
Support dental sterilization procedures and instrument processing to uphold the highest standards of infection control and healthcare safety standards.
Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during treatments.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental terminology, and understanding of dental equipment.
Experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for seamless medical documentation and record keeping.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with patient privacy laws.
Skilled in taking dental x-rays, including dental radiography procedures for general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry cases.
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Ability to operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices confidently.
Excellent communication skills to assist patients effectively, including pediatric patients, while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Familiarity with healthcare infection control practices and clinical confidentiality policies essential for maintaining a trusted practice environment.
