Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Manage patient records efficiently using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, managing medical records, and processing medical coding for billing purposes.
Skills
Proficiency in EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate documentation and record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Experience with dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners for precise diagnostics.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry as well as specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics in pediatric dentistry settings.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding processes related to dental procedures for accurate billing and documentation.
