Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support the dentist in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a smooth clinical workflow. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their dental experience.
Duties
Ensure all dental equipment is sterilized, maintained, and ready for use to uphold the highest standards of infection control.
Assist the dentist chairside during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics and orthodontics ensuring all necessary tools and materials are readily available.
Take high-quality dental x-rays while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety protocols.
Manage patient comfort by providing clear instructions and supporting them throughout their appointment.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to enhance their understanding of procedures.
Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow with patient management software, and handling administrative tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix along with proficiency in dental x-ray techniques and oral surgery assistance.
Strong understanding of infection control standards, including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention protocols.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies.
Ability to operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners, intraoral cameras, and other diagnostic tools effectively.
Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, especially within pediatric dentistry settings.
Certification in radiography or X-ray certification is preferred; but willing to train the right candidate.
