Job Summary
Key Dental is a detail-oriented, patient-focused practice that prioritizes excellence and experience over high-volume dentistry. Every team member is expected to operate with precision, professionalism, and accountability.
Dental Assistants at Key Dental play a critical role in delivering a consistent, high-quality patient experience. This position requires strict adherence to SOPs, strong clinical skills, and a willingness to be cross-trained in both clinical and patient-acquisition workflows (NPE support).
Our goal is simple: every patient leaves feeling informed, respected, and confident in their care.
Responsibilities
Clinical Assisting
Assist the dentist during a wide range of procedures, including:
Implant placement and restoration
Dentures and partial dentures
Fillings, crowns, and bridges
Root canal therapy (including molars)
Surgical procedures (extractions, alveoplasty, biopsies, bone grafting, etc.)
Pediatric dentistry
Perform efficient four-handed dentistry to optimize clinical flow and patient comfort
Prepare patients for treatment by reviewing medical history and taking vital signs
Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control standards at all times
Imaging & Records
Take diagnostic dental images (X-rays and 3D scans) following safety and compliance protocols
Accurately document treatment, notes, and records in Open Dental PMS
Ensure complete, compliant medical documentation for clinical, billing, and legal purposes
Patient Experience & Team Support
Educate patients on procedures, post-op care, and preventive dentistry in clear, professional language
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked operatory
Assist with scheduling, patient flow, and front-office support as needed
Support marketing and new patient exam (NPE) acquisition efforts when required
Qualifications & Skills
Proficiency with Open Dental and Kasper (VoIP system) preferred
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical workflows
Experience with dental imaging (X-rays and 3D scanners)
Thorough understanding of HIPAA, infection control, and aseptic techniques
Experience in both general and specialty dentistry environments preferred
Excellent communication skills with patients and team members
Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to follow established SOPs consistently
