Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient chairside support.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient appointments, following strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), utilizing advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners when needed, while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, accurately documenting treatment details and updating medical documentation.
Assist with patient intake by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology to ensure patient understanding.
Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records with precision.
Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and understanding dental terminology is essential.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft enhances efficiency in managing patient data.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality of medical records and compliance with privacy standards.
Experience with medical imaging tools like 3D scanners and X-ray machines is advantageous.
Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
