Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our pediatric dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our dental professionals. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Perform basic administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix for record management.
Skills
Proficient in medical coding and understanding of dental terminology.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental practices.
Experience with medical imaging techniques.
Familiarity with four-handed dentistry practices.
Strong understanding of infection control standards.
Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
