Job Summary
Inspired Dentistry of Charlotte is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures, including restorative dentistry, crowns, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and extractions.
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment, and materials before each appointment.
Welcome patients, review and update their medical histories, and help them feel comfortable throughout treatment.
Build meaningful patient relationships by listening to concerns, offering encouragement, and treating each patient with care and respect.
Take dental X-rays and perform other clinical duties within the assistant’s qualifications and permitted scope.
Document treatment accurately in patient charts and complete chart notes within 24 hours.
Provide patients with dentist-directed instructions for postoperative care and oral hygiene.
Clean, disinfect, and turn over treatment rooms promptly between patients.
Sterilize instruments, maintain sterilization records, and follow infection control and safety protocols.
Coordinate with external dental labs, accurately communicate case instructions, and track cases to ensure timely shipment and return.
Monitor clinical supplies and communicate inventory needs.
Assist with sterilization and room turnover throughout the day to support the entire clinical team.
Communicate promptly and honestly about incomplete tasks, missing information, or delays that could affect patient care.
Contribute to a positive, fun, and professional environment through teamwork, respectful communication, and consistent follow-through.
Experience
Previous chairside dental assisting experience is preferred.
DA I qualifications or higher required.
Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy, instruments, and clinical procedures is essential.
Experience using Eaglesoft or similar dental software is a plus.
Experience assisting with crowns, implants, cosmetic dentistry, and oral surgery is beneficial.
Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices is essential.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
Clear communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach.
