Location: Columbia Family Dental Clinic – Dayton, WA
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $21.00–$27.00 per hour, based on years of relevant experience

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $21.00–$27.00 per hour, based on years of relevant experience
Full-Time | Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM

Position Summary
The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the dentist while helping create a positive and comfortable experience for every patient. This position prepares treatment rooms, assists during dental procedures, takes dental radiographs, sterilizes instruments, maintains accurate patient records, and helps ensure efficient daily clinic operations.
The ideal candidate is experienced, compassionate, organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional patient care while working collaboratively with the dental team.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment, and materials for dental procedures
Assist the dentist during preventive, restorative, and emergency procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
Take and process dental radiographs in accordance with Washington State regulations
Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment following infection prevention protocols
Prepare dental materials and assist with procedures within the Dental Assistant scope of practice
Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record
Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
Help create a welcoming, positive experience for patients of all ages
Maintain inventory and ensure operatories are fully stocked and organized
Ensure treatment areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA and infection control standards
Collaborate with the dentist and clinic staff to deliver exceptional patient-centered care
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position
Qualifications
Required
Previous Dental Assistant experience
Current Washington State Dental Assistant Registration
Current BLS Certification, or the ability to obtain upon hire
Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, infection prevention, and sterilization techniques
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment
Preferred
Experience with digital radiography
Experience using electronic dental records or dental practice management software
