Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is ready for procedures, adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing necessary tools and materials promptly.
Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting treatment details accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Support patients by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing concerns to foster a positive experience from check-in to check-out.
Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures appropriately for insurance purposes, and ensure all medical records are up-to-date and compliant with HIPAA standards.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations, including scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing patient flow.
Qualifications
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in medical terminology, dental terminology, and anatomy knowledge.
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or other EMR systems is a plus.
Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry.
Knowledge of radiography techniques including X-ray imaging and 3D scanning; certification in radiology preferred.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
