Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
Assist dentists during clinical procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection prevention management policies.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
Manage patient records electronically using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and assisting with patient management software to schedule appointments and follow-up visits.
Support dental reception duties by greeting patients, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation efficiently.
Maintain dental equipment functionality through routine inspection and troubleshooting; ensure proper sterilization procedures are followed for all instruments.
Collaborate with the clinical team to uphold infection control standards and ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar clinical role within a dental clinic environment.
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other patient management systems.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards.
Familiarity with infection prevention management practices including sterilization procedures and aseptic technique.
Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures as well as specialized fields such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and coordinate with the clinical team.
Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; knowledge of HIPAA compliance is essential.
Ability to handle medical documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality according to clinical confidentiality policies.
