Job Description

About the Position
Northern Plains Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is looking for a reliable, motivated, and professional team member to join our team as a Dental Assistant and will be cross-trained as a receptionist.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in doing things correctly, and wants to develop a long-term career in healthcare. Candidates with experience in dentistry, healthcare, dental assisting, or medical coding are encouraged to apply. However, prior experience in these areas is not required.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, comfortable receiving feedback, and committed to being part of a team for the long term.

Dental Assistant Responsibilities
The successful candidate will receive hands-on training to learn the clinical side of our practice, including:
· You will need good hand eye coordination to excel in the dental assistant position as you will assist with dental surgical procedures
· You will room patients and need to understand complex medical histories
· You will need to multitask to aid in clinic flow
· Sterilization and infection-control procedures
· Learning the day-to-day operations of an oral surgery practice
Front Desk Responsibilities
· Greet and check in patients in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner
· Schedule appointments and help coordinate patient flow
· Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient questions
· Verify insurance information
· Communicate professionally with referring dental offices
· Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality
Qualifications
· Be dependable and consistently show up prepared and on time
· Be motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills
· Handle constructive feedback with maturity and openness
· Stay calm and kind when dealing with anxious or frustrated patients
· Work well in a team and maintain professionalism with coworkers
· Take initiative and go above and beyond to support our patients
· Thrive in a fast-paced, detailed- oriented environment
· Ideal candidates are someone looking to build a long-term career with our practice, rather than someone looking for a short term position
Important Considerations
This is an in-person position and requires reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Because our practice depends heavily on teamwork and continuity of care, reliability, employment stability, professionalism, and long-term commitment are especially important to us.

If you are looking for a position where you can learn, contribute, and become an important part of a close-knit surgical team, we would love to hear from you.
