Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your skills will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinicians in delivering top-quality dental services. Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics, ensuring efficient workflow and patient safety.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols.

Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.

Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency and patient comfort.

Monitor vital signs and assist in medical documentation to support overall patient health assessments.

Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control standards, dental sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques.

Support the dental reception team by managing patient check-ins, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and handling administrative tasks related to medical coding and documentation.

Skills
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for seamless medical documentation and record keeping.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery.

Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental sterilization devices, and other clinical tools.

Expertise in infection prevention management practices such as aseptic technique and healthcare infection control policies to ensure patient safety.

Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to sterilization standards.

Excellent communication skills suitable for interacting with patients of all ages; capable of explaining procedures clearly while demonstrating compassion.

Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare settings; capable of supporting medical coding and documentation processes.

Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus for working effectively with young patients.
