Job Summary

Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various clinical procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient appointments.
Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, adhering strictly to infection prevention protocols and radiation safety standards.
Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
Maintain a clean and sterile environment through proper dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient management software.
Requirements
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical documentation and records efficiently.
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards.
Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral scanners (such as 3D scanners), dental instruments, and other clinical tools safely and effectively.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with medical terminology related to oral health conditions.
Certification or training in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry or aseptic technique is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide outstanding patient care in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry settings.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
