Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and assisting chairside. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in various dental software systems. The Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the practice and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and manage their check-in and check-out processes.
Schedule appointments and manage the dentist's calendar efficiently.
Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation.
Assist with patient inquiries regarding treatment plans, insurance, and billing.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols within the office.
Handle phone calls, emails, and other communications professionally.
Process payments and manage financial transactions accurately.
Collaborate with dental assistants and other staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic for patient management.
Assist in taking X-rays when necessary and ensure proper handling of imaging equipment.
Assist during a variety of treatment procedures.
Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain good oral health.
Execute patient handoffs and monitors patient flow within the practice.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of dental assisting practices, including infection control measures.
Familiarity with medical documentation and terminology relevant to dentistry.
Experience with 3D scanners is a plus.
Understanding of prosthodontics, endodontics, and other dental specialties is beneficial.
Proficiency in using dental software such as Eaglesoft or Epic is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A positive attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Must have experience in a clinical setting.
