Join our growing dental team as a Dental Assistant in the vibrant Downtown / North Loop Minneapolis area!
This energetic role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced dental professionals, providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, modern clinic. As a key member of our team, you will support clinical procedures, ensure smooth patient flow, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. This paid position is ideal for someone passionate about healthcare and eager to grow their skills in general dentistry with all of the latest technology at their fingertips.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of clinical procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics and general dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment ensuring proper sterilization and aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention policies.
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes accurately.
Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions, ensuring they understand their treatment plans.
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing medical documentation and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures is preferred. Higher pay is available for dental assistants with additional credentials and certifications!
Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and sterilization procedures including infection control standards.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely and accurately; certification in dental radiography is preferred.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including
Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is a plus; commitment to ongoing professional development is encouraged.
