Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals. In this role, you will assist with chairside procedures, manage patient records, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures.
Assist dentists during various treatments by providing chairside support, including handling dental instruments and materials efficiently.
Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining proper infection control protocols.
Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix Ascend ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being.
Support infection control practices by following aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards.
Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices to promote ongoing wellness.
Collaborate with the dental team in providing four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and updating medical records as needed.
Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry to support comprehensive care.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic environment.
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy.
Ability to operate dental X-ray machines safely and effectively; certification preferred.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with medical coding and managing medical records for accurate documentation.
Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to educate patients clearly about procedures and oral health practices.
