We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality are maintained. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take dental X-rays and medical imaging while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Maintain strict infection prevention management practices through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative tasks using patient management software.
Ensure all dental instruments are properly processed and stored according to infection control standards.
Assist with the operation of dental equipment including 3D scanners and other advanced clinical tools.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall oral health.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant within a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to pediatric dentistry or oral surgery.
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records efficiently.
Knowledge of dental x-ray techniques, sterilization procedures, and infection control protocols aligned with healthcare standards.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient workflow.
Strong understanding of dental instruments, equipment operation, and dental sterilization procedures.
Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient management.
Certification in Dental Assisting is preferred; additional training in medical imaging or pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
