Overview

Responsibilities
Assist the endodontist during complex root canal treatments and other endodontic procedures with precision and confidence.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes.
Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and monitoring vital signs to ensure patient comfort throughout procedures.
Educate patients on post-treatment care instructions, dental terminology, and procedural expectations to foster understanding and trust.
Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, processing medical coding for billing purposes, and maintaining organized medical documentation.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is essential, with a focus on endodontics or general dentistry preferred.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques such as aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and handling dental equipment is required.
Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
Understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding ensures accurate record-keeping and billing processes.
Hands-on experience with X-ray imaging technology including 3D scanners will support comprehensive diagnostic capabilities.
Strong communication skills as a dental receptionist are beneficial for coordinating patient flow and providing excellent customer service.
