Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to add to our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, with the ability to assist in various aspects of patient care. This role involves working closely with dentists and hygienists, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the clinic while providing exceptional care to our patients. Minimum 2 years clinical experience.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and work areas in compliance with infection control protocols.
Take and develop X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments and coordinating with the dental receptionist.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient management and documentation.
Assist with prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures as needed.
Skills
Proficient in EMR systems, including and Dentrix.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
Experience with chairside assisting techniques and medical imaging processes.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus.
Ability to perform vital sign assessments and maintain accurate medical records.
Understanding of aseptic techniques and general dental assisting protocols.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
