Dental Assistant Expanded Functions (EFDA)

As a Licensed Dental Assistant – Expanded Functions, you will help support the clinical needs of the practice’s patients and doctors. You will have the support and training you need to maximize your career potential and help make a difference in your community one smile at a time.

Assist during a variety of treatment procedures
Take dental X-rays
Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment
Manages patient flow for the practice
Manage infection control – prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain good oral health
Place nonmetallic restorative materials, including direct-bonded restorative materials
Completes denture soft relines and manufactures temporary crowns
Perform quality impressions and bite registrations
Perform digital intraoral scans and understands clear aligner process
Application of pit and fissure sealants
Application of disclosing solutions
Perform coronal polishing
Supports patient charting for Doctors at a proficient level; ability to train on proper charting practices and doctor preferences
Ability to train others to execute patient handoffs and how to monitor patient flow within the practice
Collaborate with practice team to ensure optimum patient satisfaction
Provides direction and support to the dental assistant team throughout the day
