Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dental Assistant / Experienced Dental Receptionist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical and administrative skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves supporting dental procedures, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth clinic operations through effective use of dental software and adherence to healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and medical imaging such as X-rays and 3D scans.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, providing excellent customer service as a dental receptionist.
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Prepare treatment rooms with proper aseptic techniques, ensuring infection control and sterilization protocols are strictly followed.
Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to enhance their understanding and comfort.
Support the clinical team with tasks related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry as needed.
Coordinate appointments, handle medical documentation, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes using Epic or similar systems.
Experience
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in dental assisting and reception duties.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy relevant to dentistry.
Experience supporting pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray technology.
Ability to perform chairside assisting in various specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics while maintaining high standards of patient safety and comfort.
Excellent communication skills combined with organizational abilities to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
