Job Description

Duties
Assist dentist during a variety of treatment procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics and pediatric dentistry.

Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment ensuring all tools are sterilized according to infection prevention management protocols.

Take and process diagnostic dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.

Manage patient records accurately using our Eaglesoft; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes precisely.

Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency and patient comfort.

Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.

Support administrative team occasionally; such as patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling via patient management software, and handling dental receptionist duties as needed.

Follow strict dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Assist with medical documentation related to dental procedures and ensure compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards.

Skills
Proven experience with dental assisting in a busy dental clinic environment; familiarity with general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics and pediatric dentistry preferred.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, CBCT, 3D scanners (iTero/CEREC) and CEREC same day crown milling.

Proficiency in Eaglesoft; experience with patient management software is highly desirable.

Expertise in infection control practices including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention protocols.

Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.

Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration; capable of managing multiple priorities seamlessly.

Knowledge of medical documentation standards for accurate record keeping; understanding of HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy.

Skilled in taking vital signs and performing diagnostic dental imaging to support comprehensive patient care.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment utilizing aseptic techniques and four-handed dentistry practices.
