Duties
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry treatments
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes accurately
Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
Support infection control protocols by following healthcare infection prevention guidelines and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
Collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient experience
Qualifications
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting practices and dental equipment operation
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable
Strong understanding of medical terminology, dental terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry
Certification in dental x-ray technology; experience with digital imaging and medical imaging preferred
Knowledge of infection control standards including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
Ability to perform chairside assisting with proficiency in handling dental instruments and materials for various treatments including oral surgery and endodontics
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, ensuring a positive experience for every patient

Pay: $25.40 - $30.59 per hour
